The Girls Scouts are in trouble now that the Boy Scouts admits girls. (One reason the organization formerly known as the Boy Scouts is appealing to girls is that it emphasizes camping and real-world skills instead of focusing on the selling of junk food with unpaid child labor.)
In any event, a new press release by the Girl Scouts organization emphasizes a benefit of the Girl Scouts by saying that the Girl Scouts is a "safe, all-girl space."
Are we going to let this pass without comment? Are boys dangerous? Are girls so frail and weak that they have to be protected from boys?
What do you think of the implication that a "space" without boys is a "safe space."
